EX600-SEN8 SMC EX600 SI Unit - EtherNet/IP, 2 Ports, NPN, DLR and QuickConnect

The SMC EX600-SEN8 is the EtherNet/IP serial interface (SI) unit for the standard EX600 fieldbus system, in the NPN (sink, positive common) output version. It is the head of the manifold: it talks to the PLC over EtherNet/IP, switches up to 32 solenoid valve outputs on the attached manifold, and carries up to nine EX600 general purpose modules (digital, analog and IO-Link master) in any order. The PNP (source, negative common) equivalent is the EX600-SEN7; for CIP Safety use the EX600-BEN1 fieldbus module instead.

EtherNet/IP conformance version Composite18, 10/100 Mbps, full or half duplex over standard CAT5 or better cable. Two M12 ports (PORT 1 and PORT 2) support star, linear bus and ring topologies including DLR (Device Level Ring), with QuickConnect for fast start-up after power-on and a built-in web server for status and settings from a browser. IP address set by switches (192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x, 1 to 254) or by DHCP; EDS configuration file; occupies 1212 bytes input and 1210 bytes output max. Fail-safe output behaviour on communication error: HOLD, CLEAR or Force ON. LED display with a cover over the setting switches; one M12 seal cap included.

Power: 24 VDC control/input supply and 24 VDC valve/output supply, 2.0 A max. each, internal consumption 120 mA max. Valve outputs for SMC 24 VDC solenoid valves of 1.0 W or less with surge suppressor, short-circuit protected. Enclosure IP67 when assembled on a manifold with seal caps on unused connectors, operating temperature -10 to +50 °C, weight 300 g. CE/UKCA, UL (CSA). Powered through an EX600-ED3 end plate.
