Camozzi Life Sciences

Mike

Hey everybody, I'm Mike. I'm the Marketing Manager with Scott Equipment Company.  Today, we have got Troy here. And he is going to tell us a little bit about the Camozzi product. And today right now, we're going to talk about life sciences, and why Camozzi knows what they're doing when it comes to those really precise products that are used in life sciences. So tell us what's unique about life sciences and how Camozzi got involved with it?

Troy

Sure. Yes. So Camozzi has been involved in the life science arena for about 10 years now, primarily focused on developing components for medical devices. So we have components that go into anesthesia machines, oxygen concentrators, ventilators, dialysis machines, just to name a few.

Mike

Okay? What we are really hearing is that it is really precise fittings and things because everything in the medical industry has super tight tolerances.

Troy

Learn More About Camozzi Life SciencesYes, super tight tolerances, and it has to be cleaned for oxygen. So, we have our own cleanroom. It's an ISO 7 class 10,000 clean room where we can clean the components prior to putting them into an assembly.

Mike

And so what we mean I think it correct me if I'm wrong, but these are like, everything, there can't be any particulates put onto these fittings when they get packaged, so that when they get used in a medical situation, they're totally clean, totally benign. And there is no contamination.

Troy

Yeah, no hydrocarbons, because that can be an explosion possibility when you introduce oxygen into the environment,

Mike

So, does Camozzi do anything special? Or is there something that is known to make sure that these clean fittings are ready to be shipped to the customer?

Troy

Yeah, so we do ultrasonic cleaning for all of our parts, and then they're blacklight tested, to ensure there's no hydrocarbons on the fittings or components, whatever we're cleaning so far.

Mike

So Troy, you've done a great job explaining how you get a clean fitting, but why has Camozzi been successful in the life sciences industry?

Troy

Yeah, so we attribute our success to our ability to integrate a complete solution into a common manifold. So instead of just providing a discrete component, whether it's a valve or regulator, our engineers are developing a complete fluid control solution that integrates our proportional technology, sensors, cartridge regulators, cartridge valves, all into one system that takes care of all the fluid control functions that would go into a medical device. That way the whole system is already pre tested, pre certified, all the OEM has to do is mount it and plug it in. And it just saves him time and a lot of space, because these medical devices have to be very compact.

Mike

So everything comes in one package. It is not just fittings. You build the whole part and you put it all together, it's clean and ready to go right away.

Troy

The whole integrated circuit, plug and play, ready to go already tested.

Mike

All right, sounds good. Troy, thanks for that great explanation on clean fittings with Camozzi. If you have an application where you need clean fittings, give your Scott Equipment Company Account Manager a call about Camozzi fittings.
