The SMC ZK2B15R5CLA-08-W Vacuum Generator is a compact, integrated vacuum unit designed for automated material handling, pick-and-place, packaging, assembly, and other industrial vacuum applications. Part of SMC's ZK2A Series, the unit combines vacuum generation, valve control, vacuum monitoring, and pneumatic connections into a single package to help reduce piping, wiring, installation space, and maintenance requirements.
The ZK2B15R5CLA-08-W is a single-unit, port-exhaust configuration equipped with a 1.5 mm ejector nozzle. The port-exhaust design allows exhaust air to be piped away from the unit, which can be useful where exhaust must be directed to another location rather than discharged directly into the surrounding environment. For the 1.5 mm ZK2 ejector with port exhaust, SMC specifies a maximum suction flow of approximately 89 L/min (ANR), air consumption of 90 L/min (ANR), and a maximum vacuum pressure of approximately -91 kPa under SMC's specified operating conditions.
This configuration operates at 24 VDC and incorporates a self-holding supply valve with an N.C. vacuum release valve. The self-holding valve design allows the valve state to be maintained after switching, helping reduce electrical power requirements associated with continuously energizing a conventional solenoid valve. The ejector's specified supply pressure range is 0.3 to 0.6 MPa, with a standard supply pressure of approximately 0.4 MPa for the 1.5 mm configuration.
Integrated vacuum monitoring is provided by a pressure switch for vacuum with a 0 to -101 kPa pressure range and two PNP outputs. This configuration includes SMC's unit-selection function, allowing vacuum conditions to be monitored and communicated to the machine control system. The L wiring configuration provides individual wiring with a 300 mm connector assembly for the supply/release valve and a 2 m lead wire for the vacuum pressure switch.
The 08 vacuum port configuration provides an 8 mm One-touch connection, helping simplify vacuum tubing installation. The W option adds an exhaust-interference prevention valve, further tailoring this vacuum unit for reliable operation in automated vacuum systems.
