About Lovejoy Hydraulics

Hydraulic Power-Unit Components from Lovejoy by Timken

Lovejoy is a Timken company headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois, with U.S. manufacturing operations in Downers Grove and South Haven, Michigan. Its hydraulic product line complements Lovejoy’s long-standing coupling expertise with components that simplify motor-to-pump mounting, manage hydraulic-fluid temperature and provide reservoir hardware for compact power-unit design.

Motor-to-Pump Integration

Cast-aluminum bellhousings and flexible couplings create compact connections between electric motors and hydraulic pumps while helping maintain shaft alignment and reduce fabrication work.

Hydraulic Thermal Management

BNZ water-oil coolers remove heat from circulating hydraulic fluid with compact shell-and-tube construction, multiple pass arrangements and several port and material options.

Reservoirs & Power-Unit Accessories

Aluminum tanks, lids, seals, gauges, filler breathers, heaters, legs, casters and line-routing bushings provide modular building blocks for hydraulic reservoirs and power units.

Product Areas

Explore Lovejoy Hydraulic Components

Use these product areas as a starting point for electric-motor-driven hydraulic power units, pump and motor mounting, shaft coupling, reservoir design and hydraulic-oil cooling.

Hydraulic Pump / Motor Mounts

Lovejoy cast-aluminum pump/motor mounts—commonly called bellhousings—allow flange-mounted hydraulic pumps to connect directly to electric motors. Current designs support horizontal and vertical configurations, SAE and metric pump flanges, and NEMA or IEC motor interfaces. Lovejoy lists NEMA frame coverage from 56C through 404/405-class applications depending on configuration.

L, CJ & LH Hydraulic Couplings

Lovejoy’s hydraulic coupling offering includes standard L-Line jaw couplings, CJ curved-jaw couplings and the compact LH short-length jaw series. These elastomeric coupling styles accommodate shaft misalignment while eliminating metal-to-metal contact during normal operation.

Nyflex®, Mite® & Dentex® Couplings

Lovejoy also supports hydraulic-drive applications with compact nylon-sleeve gear couplings. Nyflex®, Mite® and Dentex® designs are lightweight, require no lubrication or retainers, provide low backlash and are resistant to dirt, moisture and many chemicals.

BNZ Series Water-Oil Coolers

BNZ shell-and-tube coolers transfer heat from hydraulic oil to water or water-glycol coolant. Current product information lists BNZ 60, 80 and 125 frame sizes, one-, two- and four-pass configurations, multiple port styles and selected models capable of removing up to 600 hp of heat with oil flow rates up to approximately 225 GPM.

Aluminum Hydraulic Reservoirs

Lovejoy offers six aluminum reservoir sizes with available fluid capacities from approximately 1.6 to 16.6 gallons. The aluminum construction does not require painting or priming, is lightweight and provides greater heat dissipation than comparable steel tank construction.

Reservoir Accessories & Tank Services

Reservoir accessories include lids, gaskets, legs, casters, filler breathers, oil-level gauges, tank heaters and elastic bushings for routing hydraulic lines. Lovejoy literature also describes value-added tank and lid machining for supply, return, case-drain, breather, level-gauge and mounting openings.

Help Select and Coordinate Lovejoy Hydraulic Components

Our Sales and Technical Teams can help review motor frame, pump flange and shaft style, coupling size, reservoir capacity, hydraulic flow, heat load, coolant availability and mounting requirements. We can also coordinate Lovejoy components with pumps, valves, manifolds, motors, filtration, gauges and supporting hydraulic hardware.

Pump / Motor Mount Selection

Match the electric-motor frame, pump mounting flange, shaft geometry, horizontal or vertical orientation and required separation distance to the appropriate bellhousing.

Hydraulic Coupling Selection

Review shaft diameters, torque, speed, misalignment, available length and elastomer or nylon-sleeve requirements when selecting a motor-to-pump coupling.

Reservoir & Cooler Sizing

Evaluate hydraulic-fluid volume, system heat generation, oil flow, ambient conditions, cooling-water temperature and available installation space when selecting tanks and coolers.

WBIYII Hydraulic Power-Unit Kits

Coordinate Lovejoy mounts, couplings, reservoirs, gauges, breathers and related hardware with pumps, motors, valves and controls as part of repeatable WBIYII hydraulic assemblies or installation-ready kits.

Selection note: Final selection should be verified against the exact motor and pump interfaces, shaft dimensions, torque and speed, reservoir working volume, thermal load, oil viscosity, coolant temperature and flow, operating pressure, mounting orientation and service environment. Published cooler performance varies by model and operating conditions, so cooling capacity should be sized from the application rather than selected from maximum catalog ratings alone.
