Scott Equipment Company supports Vortec compressed-air cooling, enclosure cooling, blowoff, conveying and maintenance products for manufacturers, OEMs and industrial facilities throughout North and South Carolina.
Vortec Vortex Tubes & Compressed-Air Solutions
Vortec develops compressed-air products for industrial cooling, enclosure protection, blowoff, cleaning, conveying, liquid handling and worker cooling. Its current product offering includes vortex tubes, Cold Air Guns, Vortex Enclosure Coolers, air knives, air amplifiers, air nozzles and jets, the Dual-Force Vac drum pump, hot air guns, spray nozzles, cooling vests and related accessories.

Industrial Compressed-Air Innovation Since 1961
Vortec states that it became the first company to develop the vortex-tube phenomenon into practical industrial cooling solutions in 1961. Illinois Tool Works acquired Vortec in 1990, and Vortec now operates as part of the ITW Air Management business unit from Cincinnati, Ohio.
Cooling Without Moving Parts
Vortex tubes use compressed air to create separate cold and hot air streams, providing compact spot or process cooling without motors, refrigerants or moving components at the cooling point.
Efficient Compressed-Air Applications
Vortec applies vortex and air-amplification technology to cooling, drying, blowoff, cleaning and conveying tasks where a compact compressed-air solution can simplify machine or maintenance applications.
10-Year Warranty on Core Products
Vortec currently states that the core compressed-air products it manufactures are backed by a 10-year warranty, reflecting the simple, durable construction used throughout much of the line.

Vortex Tubes
Vortex tubes separate compressed air into adjustable cold and hot streams for industrial spot and process cooling. Current Vortec models provide approximately 100 to 6,000 BTU/hr of refrigeration and can produce cold-air temperatures as low as -40°F under applicable operating conditions.
Explore vortex tubes →Cold Air Guns
Cold Air Guns use filtered compressed air and vortex-tube technology to produce targeted subfreezing air as low as -30°F for machining, tool cooling, parts cooling and other localized applications. Standard, frost-free, dual-nozzle and mini configurations are available.
Explore Cold Air Guns →Vortex Enclosure Coolers
Vortec enclosure coolers provide cooled, filtered air and slight cabinet pressurization to help protect PLCs, drives, controls and other electronics from heat and contamination. The current line includes Vortex A/C, Electric Vortex A/C, HazLoc, ATEX, ProtEx, Vortex Cooler and Panel Guard configurations.
Explore enclosure coolers →Blowoff Solutions
Vortec air knives, air nozzles, air jets and flow amplifiers use compressed air and entrained surrounding air for focused jets, broad air curtains or amplified airflow. Applications include drying, cleaning, cooling, part ejection and conveying across narrow or wide surfaces.
Explore blowoff solutions →Dual-Force Vac Drum Pump
The air-powered Dual-Force Vac installs on a customer-supplied 55-gallon drum and switches between fill and discharge modes with a quarter turn of a knob. Vortec states that it can fill or empty a drum in under two minutes and can handle viscous liquids, chips and particulates.
Explore Dual-Force Vac →Specialty Cooling, Heating & Spray Products
Vortec also offers hot air guns for adjustable localized heating, compressed-air-assisted spray nozzles for atomization and wetting, Thread Guard needle cooling, personal cooling vests, replacement cooling tubes, accessories and service parts.

Our Sales and Technical Teams can help review heat load, target temperature, cooling capacity, inlet-air pressure and quality, required airflow or thrust, duty cycle, mounting and environmental conditions. We can also coordinate Vortec products with air preparation, valves, sensors, controls, enclosures and other machine components.
Cooling Product Selection
Compare vortex tubes, Cold Air Guns and enclosure coolers based on heat load, target temperature, cooling capacity, airflow, environment and available compressed air.
Blowoff & Airflow Review
Match air knives, nozzles, jets and amplifiers to the required coverage, thrust, standoff distance, noise target, air consumption and mounting arrangement.
Air Preparation & Accessories
Identify filtration, regulation, tubing, valves, thermostats, hoses, mounting hardware and other components needed for a reliable installation.
WBIYII Application Assemblies
Coordinate Vortec products, air preparation, controls, valves, tubing, mounting components and related hardware into repeatable WBIYII assemblies or installation-ready kits.
Selection note: Final product selection should be verified against available pressure and flow, compressed-air temperature and quality, target temperature or heat load, distance to the application, required coverage or thrust, enclosure size and rating, ambient conditions and duty cycle. Hazardous-location or ATEX applications should use the specifically approved Vortec model and installation requirements for the application.
