Scott Equipment Company supports Datasensing industrial sensors, machine-safety products, encoders, guidance technologies and machine-vision systems for manufacturers, OEMs and integrators throughout North and South Carolina.
Datasensing Industrial Sensors, Machine Safety & Vision
Datasensing develops sensing, safeguarding and machine-vision technologies for manufacturing and intralogistics. Its current product portfolio is organized around industrial sensors, Safety and Guidance, and Machine Vision, with products for object detection, measurement, machine safeguarding, area protection, navigation, position feedback, inspection and quality control.

Sensor, Safety and Machine-Vision Expertise in One Portfolio
Datasensing was created in 2022 by combining Datalogic’s Sensor & Safety and Machine Vision business unit with M.D. Micro Detectors, bringing together two organizations with roots in Italian sensor technology dating to the early 1970s. The company currently develops more than 200 product lines and approximately 22,500 standard and custom part numbers across sensing, safety and machine vision.
Broad Industrial Sensor Coverage
Photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, ultrasonic, area and specialty sensors address presence, positioning, contrast, color, luminescence, label, distance, profile and measurement applications.
Machine Safety & Guidance
Safety light curtains, safety sensors, control units, laser scanners, lidars and encoders support machine safeguarding, access protection, mobile equipment guidance and position feedback.
Machine Vision for Inspection & Guidance
Smart cameras, vision processors, industrial cameras and supporting software cover inspection, OCR, pattern matching, quality control, line scanning and vision-guided robotic applications.
Explore Datasensing Automation Technologies
Use these product areas as a starting point for machine detection, measurement, safeguarding, AGV/AMR applications, position feedback and automated visual inspection.
Photoelectric, Area & Specialty Sensors
Datasensing photoelectric products include cylindrical and cubic sensors, color, contrast and luminescence sensors, fiber-optic amplifiers, fork sensors, distance sensors and vision sensors. Area sensors extend detection and measurement across wider profiles and object zones.
Explore photoelectric sensors →Inductive, Capacitive & Ultrasonic Sensors
Inductive proximity sensors detect metal targets, capacitive sensors extend detection to additional materials, and ultrasonic products support object and distance sensing where optical properties may make photoelectric detection difficult.
Explore proximity sensors →Safety Light Curtains, Sensors & Controls
Type 2 and Type 4 safety light curtains, safety sensors, photocells, safety control units and accessories support point-of-operation safeguarding, access protection and perimeter applications. Current families include SH4 and SG-series light curtains.
Explore safety light curtains →Safety Laser Scanners, Lidars & Encoders
LASER SENTINEL safety laser scanners provide configurable area protection for machinery, robotic cells and AGV/AMR applications. Datasensing also lists lidars and absolute or incremental encoders within its Safety and Guidance portfolio for navigation, positioning and motion feedback.
Explore Safety and Guidance →Machine Vision Smart Cameras & Vision Systems
Datasensing’s machine-vision offering includes P2x and P3x smart cameras, vision processors, industrial cameras and accessories. Impact™ Suite supports camera resolutions from VGA through 20 MP as well as line-scan cameras up to 8K for inspection, OCR, pattern matching and guidance.
Explore machine vision →IO-Link Sensors & Connectivity
IO-Link-capable sensors support remote parameterization, diagnostics and process data, while the CBX-8IOL Master provides eight M12 IO-Link ports in an IP67 housing with PROFINET or EtherNet/IP connectivity for decentralized sensor integration.
Explore IO-Link connectivity →Help Select and Apply Datasensing Products
Our Sales and Technical Teams can help review sensing distance, target material, output, response time, light-curtain resolution, protected height, scanner field requirements, encoder interface, vision task and network architecture. We can also coordinate Datasensing products with PLCs, IO-Link infrastructure, robotics, machine controls and supporting automation components.
Sensor Technology Selection
Compare photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, ultrasonic, area and specialty technologies against the target, range, accuracy, speed and environment.
Safety Product Application Support
Review light-curtain type, resolution, protected height, muting requirements, scanner fields, mounting and interface needs for the defined safeguarding function.
Vision & Inspection Planning
Match smart cameras or vision systems to inspection tools, image resolution, field of view, optics, lighting, part presentation and communication requirements.
IO-Link & WBIYII Integration
Coordinate sensors, IO-Link masters, connectivity, mounting hardware and related controls into repeatable bills of material or WBIYII installation kits.
Selection note: Final sensor and vision selection should be verified against the actual target, sensing range, response time, output, environmental exposure, optics, lighting and mounting conditions. For machine-safety applications, the responsible machine manufacturer or other qualified party must define the required safety function through the appropriate risk assessment and validate the completed safeguarding system.
