The Kollmorgen KEM-4V250-KE9NCB Servo Motor is a powerful 2.5 kW, 240/480 VAC servo motor designed for demanding industrial automation applications. As part of the Kollmorgen Essentials™ product family, this motor provides high torque density, exceptional reliability, and seamless commissioning when paired with Kollmorgen Essentials or AKD-series servo drives.

 

This 108 mm IEC-frame motor delivers a strong 10.1 Nm continuous stall torque and 23.4 Nm peak torque at 480 VAC, making it ideal for high-load axes, packaging machinery, robotics, gantries, and material-handling systems requiring both torque reserve and smooth motion. With a maximum mechanical speed of 5000 rpm, the motor supports rapid acceleration and high throughput.

 

Motion control accuracy is ensured using Kollmorgen’s SFD-M Smart Feedback Device, which provides 24-bit single-turn and 16-bit battery-free multi-turn absolute feedback, enabling < ±1 arc-minute positioning performance. The motor automatically identifies itself to compatible drives via its electronic nameplate, dramatically reducing setup time.

 

A single rotatable M23 hybrid connector integrates power and feedback signals in an IP54 housing, simplifying wiring and reducing installation complexity. The Essentials standard mount and keyed/smooth-shaft configuration options improve flexibility for OEM machine builders.

 

Industrial durability is ensured with Class F (155 °C) insulation, a PTC thermal sensor, 100 °C winding rise ratings, and optional shaft-seal capability for IP65 operation.
