Hi, I am Trevor and welcome to the Scott Equipment Company Automation Simplified Video Series. Today we are going to be introducing Hiwin linear guideways.
Hello, I am Trevor Gann. I am one of the Design and Application Engineers at Scott Equipment Company. Today we are going to be discussing the HG and EG Hiwin linear guideways and what Scott Equipment Company currently stocks.
A linear guideway allows a type of linear motion that utilizes rolling elements, such as balls or rollers. Compared to a traditional slide, Hiwin guideways provide a much lower coefficient of friction. Hiwin linear guideways can accommodate loads in both the up-down and left-right directions. These features enhance the moving accuracy, especially when accompanied with a precise ball screw.
The HG and EG series are the most common and are suitable for most applications. The HG Series linear guideway is the heavy-duty series and is designed with a low capacity and rigidity higher than other comparable products with a circular R-groove. It features equal ratings in the radial-reverse-radial and lateral directions and is self-aligning to prevent installation error.
The EG series is a medium duty low profile guideway with a high load capacity. It also features an equal load rating in all four directions and self-aligning capability to prevent installation errors allowing for higher accuracy. Additionally, the lower assembly height and the shorter length make the EG series more suitable for high-speed applications.
Scott equipment company currently stocks the EG series in 15,20-, 25- and 30-millimeter guideway options. We also stock the HG Series and 15,20, 25,30-, 35-, 45- and 55-millimeter sizes. We have a HIWIN saw in our facility and can cut guide ways to custom links.
